Happening! It happens!

On the occasion of his 80th birthday, the Schlossmuseum in Linz is showing early performative works by the artist Johann Jascha.

In his happenings in the late 1960s and 1970s, the artist fought back against the established art establishment and the ossified structures of the Kunstuniverstität in Vienna. After his first action in Helmut Zobl’s studio, in which he screamed and pierced the rubber skin of his “toilet bowl,” further disruptive and screaming actions followed.

The exhibition shows photos and films of Jascha’s performative works from 1969 onwards.
