Nobody sits still at this festival: The CHIALA Africa Festival brings the great cultural diversity of Africa to the Augarten in Graz.
The CHIALA Africa Festival has long been an annual fixture among the friends of the African Community in Graz. Nowhere else is there more passionate dancing and celebration at the concerts than at the CHIALA Festival. The festival is organized by the CHIALA association, which, in addition to its cultural work, offers a wide range of support and services for people, especially those of African origin: from social-, housing- and legal-advice, German courses to creative and anti-racist workshops, African catering services and an African media center. This cooperative spirit can also be felt every year at the CHIALA Africa Festival, where – despite all the challenges that many from the African community in Graz face – the joy of life always prevails.
