The literary competition of the Graz Academy has been organised since 1994 and was founded by long-time president Emil Breisach; submissions are anonymous.
The jury for this year’s competition, Andrea Stift-Laube (Lichtungen), Jessica Beer (Residenz Verlag) and Georg Petz (Akademie Graz) have chosen the following winners: 1st prize, donated by the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport, goes to Nina Maria Metzger, born in Upper Austria, for “laute farben und grindige tiere” (loud colours and barking animals).
The second prize goes to Antonia Löffler for “Santa Maria”.
The award ceremony will be accompanied by music from Vesna Petkovic. The ceremony will conclude with a small Christmas reception.
