03.04.2024 – 07.04.2024
Under the motto Stories of Living Together, the Literature Days address a central challenge of our time. After many months of forced isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in a phase of social divisions, but also shocking armed conflicts between entire states, the question of vital coexistence arises on many levels. We take up two focal points of contemporary literature as examples: the abundance of autobiographically based portrayals of individual life stories, as well as the tracing of family histories as a cross-generational exploration of one’s own origins.
Talks with students, a “talk about literature” (this time with the presentation of an ORF film about the Literature Days), the texts of the Rauris writing workshop and – in the non-public programme – guest appearances in schools and the traditional disruptive readings form the supporting programme of the Rauris Literature Days.
This year’s Rauris Literature Prize goes to Matthias Gruber and the Rauris Promotion Prize to Luka Leben. Both will receive their prizes at the opening ceremony and present the award-winning texts in their own readings.
