The biennial festival, organised by the Bundeskammer derZiviltechniker:nnen und der Architekturstiftung Österreich and implemented by the Architekturhäuser, focuses on mediation and dialogue.
On two days at the same time in each of the federal provinces, the exchange between the public and experts is stimulated by a wide variety of formats: curated building tours, guided city walks, talks with architects, panel discussions, programme items for children and young people, artistic interventions, film screenings and much more contribute to a comprehensive architectural experience.
The programme items of the individual architecture houses are based on the following key questions for the Architecture Days 2024: What sustainable solutions can architecture and urban planning offer? How can they contribute to ecological and social change? What role do topics such as the circular economy, reuse, recycling, upcycling, use of materials, etc. play in terms of planning, design and aesthetics? How are these new requirements changing our environment, but also the professional profile of architects and civil engineers?
The Architecture Days are curated by 10 architecture centres and initiatives throughout Austria: afo architekturforum oberösterreich, Architektur Haus Kärnten, Architektur RAUMBURGENLAND, Architekturzentrum Wien, aut.architektur und tirol, HDA – Haus der Architektur / Graz, Initiative Architektur / Salzburg, ÖGFA – Österreichische Gesellschaft für Architektur / Vienna, ORTE Architekturnetzwerk Niederösterreich, vai Vorarlberger Architektur Institut.
