From pop, rap, rock and hip-hop to soul, indie and classical concerts, from dance, theatre and performance to cabaret, comedy and improv theatre – whether contemporary circus, puppet theatre, experimental music or Austropop – everyone will find their favourite cultural programme at the Kultursommer.
The Vienna Summer of Culture 2024 programme is a showcase for the city’s art and culture scene. The programme focuses on home, feminism and the wider world.
Tom Neuwirth – also known to many as the former Conchita Wurst – sings about growing up in the countryside, traditions and being different in his new programme with Martin Zerza.
Under the title “Heimat bist du rechter Söhne”, for example, there are deep insights into Austria’s right-wing extremist networks. Under the direction of Felix Hafner, the collective packs journalistic knowledge into an entertaining theatre form.
This summer there are nine stages in nine different neighbourhoods: Wasserturm Favoriten (10th district), Hyblerpark (11th district), Wilhelmsdorfer Park (12th district), Reithofferpark (15th district), Währinger Park (18th district), Mortarapark (20th district), Großfeldsiedlung (21st district), Schrödingerplatz (22nd district) and Meischlgasse ASK Erlaa (23rd district).
