Mathias Poledna has created a complex, multi-layered oeuvre in which films, expansive installations and architectural interventions are in constant dialogue with each other and with independent series of works, found artworks, objects and ephemeral materials, thus condensing into a singular artistic language. Central to his practice are questions of modernity, cultural memory and the visual imaginary in art and popular culture. Mathias Poledna will produce a new filmic work for the exhibition curated by Sandro Droschl at the HALLE FÜR KUNST, which will form the centre of an installative structure in this architectural setting that extends across all the exhibition spaces in the building and proposes new contexts for the reflection of his work.
