As part of the Anton Bruckner Year 2024, the exhibition is dedicated to the aspect of singing together from the perspective of contemporary art.
The exhibition examines singing as an act of resistance and empowerment from the perspective of contemporary art. The exhibition brings together around 20 artists for whom singing is an essential point of reference within their artistic practice. New interpretations and adaptations, as well as the participatory dimension of singing, are at the centre of the show. In this sense, the title is to be understood as a call to unite around common ideals and goals, thus emphasizing the political dimension of singing. When artists explore the origins of popular songs or adopt traditional forms such as lyrics or ballads and merge them with contemporary themes, politics and nostalgia, tradition and modernity come together.
