In the exhibition, Nadine Nebel combines two perspectives on the digital: collective sensory overload and personal reflection. The aesthetics of digital platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest are deconstructed – unattainable ideals and constant restlessness meet visible ruptures. The omnipresent eye stands for surveillance, self-staging and the question of who is actually watching whom. Digital Doom X Things and Thoughts scrutinises the contradictory nature of exhibiting in the digital era and reflects the longing for meaning in a world of image overload – an invitation to pause for thought: What remains when everything is fleeting?
