kunsthaus muerz is organising a symposium and literary festival to mark the poet’s 100th birthday. In the more than 80 years of her writing life, the poet has moulded a writing mood in herself that forms a loose bracket over the works that unfold in various genres. Female poets and literary scholars will analyse Mayröcker’s work in lectures, discussions and readings. Not only her texts, but also her extensive estate with countless pieces of paper, manuscripts and objects represent the starting point for a material-bound and forward-looking examination of the writer.
