Nika Kupyrova’s artistic work consists of large-scale installations that explore the narrative potential of the exhibition space. She finds her source material in literature and pop culture and combines sculptural, digital and audiovisual techniques to offer the public a complete universe that can be filled with personal associations. As part of her exhibition at Lentos, Nika Kupyrova explores dreams, omens and digital algorithms as she follows the appearance of a small white dog through the media she uses on a daily basis. Digital objects that penetrate all areas of our lives create a sense of loss of reality – it is no longer possible to completely separate digital experiences from physical ones. Instead, the artist proposes asking the same questions about both our digital and physical existence: What is consciousness? Are coincidences real? Are the decisions I make really my own?
