For the exhibition ‘Remember Hasso and Signe Gehrmann’, Lisi Hämmerle has selected drawings from Signe’s travelling blocks that have never been shown in public before. They are accompanied by silk and enamel paintings from her barely publicised estate. Hasso Gehrmann is represented with some early works from his abstract phase as well as with later, figurative-metaphysical drawings and paintings and with photorealistic tempera paintings of some design drafts from 1965-70 that have so far remained hidden in the archive. And because they both enjoyed designing festive decorations, two reflections by Hasso Gehrmann on Signes’ Indian sketchpads in the form of design drawings for a Far Eastern festival can also be seen here.
