The ALPINALE celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025, so this special year will once again be all about clearing the stage for cinematic highlights, bold perspectives and atmospheric encounters in the open air. The magic of short film unfolds in a festive atmosphere in a field of tension between retrospection and new beginnings. In its anniversary year, the forecourt of the Remise will once again be transformed into an atmospheric open-air cinema on five summer evenings, bringing together filmmakers and film enthusiasts from all over the world. Spanish musician Efren Moreno provides a special sound backdrop with his live performances, which lend the evenings in the open air an atmospheric flavour. The open-air experience is complemented by programme items in and around the Remise-Saal Bludenz, including in the Würbel-Areal. I 69 short films were selected in advance from over 1,500 international submissions – the productions will be presented during the festival week in their original language with German or English subtitles. 31 of the 69 films in the programme come from Austria and Germany. In total, films from 23 countries will be shown – including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Ecuador, Finland, France, Iran, Ireland, Croatia, the Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, the USA and the United Kingdom.
