The Summer Dance Days have established themselves as an integral part of Linz’s cultural calendar and will once again enrich Linz this year. Especially at the end of summer, the festival offers Linzers a wonderful opportunity to experience movement and the joy of dancing in Urfahr. The Summer Dance Days 2025 programme promises variety: there are 16 different workshops to choose from – from contemporary basics, hip-hop foundation and house dance to musical jazz, salsa/bachata, lyrical jazz, K-POP and pop ballet. For beginners as well as advanced and professional dancers, for example in contemporary ballet. Curator and dancer Carolina Avellaneda is delighted with the wide-ranging programme: “The diverse workshops reflect the breadth of today’s dance cultures – from Latin American rhythms to queer tango and K-Pop. It was particularly important to me to integrate styles in which everyone can try things out and get in touch with their own bodies and with each other.” Even the youngest dance enthusiasts won’t miss out: for children aged 7 to 12, there is “Scroll, Dance, Learn: Love dancing on TikTok?‘, and for the very youngest (2 to 6 years) there is a parent-child programme with ContaKIDS (’Dance with my parents”).
