For the first time, the FLATZ Museum – Centre for Photography is exhibiting parts of Annette and Peter Nobel’s outstanding photo collection. Works by Man Ray, Alexander Rodchenko, Wolfgang Tillmans, Andreas Gursky, Gilbert & George, Alfredo Jaar, Daniele Buetti, Barbara Kruger, Robert Capa, Thomas Ruff, Shirana Shahbazi, Manon and Henri Cartier-Bresson, among others, will be on display. Curated by Christoph Doswald, the exhibition has a look at an omnipresent visual medium in the course of time, whose disruptive role is gaining additional relevance against the backdrop of the AI debate. The invention of photography and its mass dissemination through print media were decisive moments in the perception of the world we live in. Since then, our perception of reality has been strongly influenced by prefabricated images. The collection comprises works of art that focus on this causal relationship.
