The Lentos presents the first solo museum exhibition by Austrian artist Georg Pinteritsch. His works are characterised by an unmistakable visual language: art-historical symbolism, Christian iconography and set pieces from our everyday visual culture are woven together to form surreal narratives. Fundamental themes of human existence take centre stage, opening up intimate pictorial spaces in which past, present and future come together in complex ways. His paintings, drawings and objects testify to a focused attention to social issues, such as the relationship between humans and nature or the influence of technological developments on our forms of perception. In addition to works from recent years, Georg Pinteritsch, who studied painting and graphic design at the University of Art and Design Linz, is showing new works created especially for the exhibition curated by Sarah Jonas, which provide insights into his current artistic practice.
