In 2025, Vienna Future Food Week will once again be seeking answers to questions about sustainable cuisine – with international personalities, new formats and locations that are currently inspiring Vienna. Nine days and locations filled with discussions, pop-ups and takeovers full of encounters, cultural exchange and new taste experiences: a week full of wine, dine and all things fine. To kick off Vienna Future Food Week, Popchop at Hotel MOTTO presents a talk by acclaimed Ukrainian author and chef Olia Hercules, who is travelling from London especially for the occasion to present her new book ‘Strong Roots’ in cooperation with the queer-feminist Viennese bookshop o*books. Other food culture laboratories opening their doors as part of Vienna Future Food Week include the Studio Wasser collective at Markterei and the Estúdio Schumi design studio, which will be temporarily moving into Funkhaus Wien with an atmospheric osmiza (wine tavern). The Vienna Future Food Week programme also includes a night-time tasting at the Saint Charles Apotheke and an evening at the R&Bar, where Berlin’s ambassador of culinary delights Lucas Huemer, together with Emiel Redant from Antwerp and renowned winemaker Christian Tschida, will be pressing wine, music and pâtés into a mould – or, more precisely, into pâté en croûte.
