The Austrian feature film PFAU – BIN ICH ECHT? (PEACOCK – AM I REAL?) by Bernhard Wenger is Austria’s official entry at this year’s European Union Film Festival (EUFF) and the Calgary European Film Festival. This haunting character study follows Matthias, who slips into various roles – perfect boyfriend, son or training partner – and increasingly loses himself in the process. In German with English subtitles, the film impressively addresses identity, authenticity and the staging of one’s own life. The film will be shown at five different venues in Canada and Jamaica throughout November.
