For three days, Croatia will once again be dominated by Austrian culture: for 15 years now, the Austrian Cultural Forum Zagreb, together with the City and University Library of Osijek, the Austrian Library in Osijek and the German Studies Department of the Faculty of Philosophy in Osijek, has been organising the Austrian Culture Days in Osijek. This year’s edition of the Cultural Days will open with a literary-dramatic reading of excerpts from Karl Kraus’ monumental satirical World War I drama Die letzten Tage der Menschheit (The Last Days of Mankind). This eloquent panorama of the First World War will be presented by Austrian actor Martin Ploderer.
