What the Grammy is to the music industry and the Oscar to the film industry, the Austrian Building Owner Award is to the domestic construction industry. First presented in 1967, this award is perhaps the only one in Austria that explicitly calls for a broader view of architecture. This broader perspective has lost none of its relevance: in its current edition, the award continues to stand for the conviction that architecture can most effectively develop its social relevance in a culture of dialogue, in which the ideas of clients (or users) and the concrete planning services of architects reinforce each other. In 2025, regional juries selected 24 nominations from 112 submitted projects, all of which impressively demonstrate how diverse and challenging construction tasks can be solved today in dialogue between clients and architects. The seven prizes ultimately awarded by the nationwide main jury reflect the current state of high-quality construction contrastingly. The exhibition curated by Adolph Stiller in the Ringturm shows all the nominated projects, with a special focus on the seven prize winners.
