Alexander Stark focuses on visual phenomena that can create a symbiotic relationship between the viewer and the artwork, allowing space for non-conceptual perception. Through their generative nature, his installations in public spaces create an interaction between the artwork and passers-by, who interpret movements into abstract forms and behaviours that stand out from their surroundings. Stark’s works are thus an invitation to heighten awareness of the simple beauty and complexity of forms. They encourage viewers to explore profound questions about perception and reality and to question their own view of the world. The concept of the exhibition focuses on the polarity between the states of movement and stillness, with objects that invite active interaction on the one hand, and paintings that invite silent observation through abstract patterns and rhythmic sequences on the other. The aim of the exhibition itself is to create a space that enables non-conceptual perception and invites direct experience.
