Photography helps us preserve memories and beautiful moments. Today, this is easier than ever, as every mobile phone has a built-in camera. When the first photograph was exposed for eight hours on an asphalt-coated tin plate in 1826, no one could have imagined how commonplace photography would one day become for us. Six artists explore the traces of such potential secrets: Pascal Petignat, Martin Scholz, Peter Schreiner, Gregor Schmoll, Isabelle le Minh and Sebastian Riemer. They all tell stories about photography and shed light on the unknown. The works on display are not always photographs themselves, but in an intelligent, beautiful and humorous way, they are works about a medium whose 200th birthday we are celebrating.
