The Cserni Collection focuses on Austrian art since the 1960s, with an emphasis on painting and sculpture. Franz Cserni, who sharpened his eye for contemporary art through his own engagement with painting, passed on his passion for art to his son Martin. Over the course of more than 30 years, the two have built up a collection of more than 350 works. The exhibition shows 15 important works from the collection by eight artists. These form the focus of painterly and sculptural positions from the 1980s and 1990s through to statements by young, contemporary artists.
