Viktor Platonov has been active as an artist for more than six decades. His artistic field ranges from sculptural commissions, large and small sculptures to painting. Abstract-symbolic expressionism is at the forefront, with themes of humanity, myth, mysticism (humanity and its world of symbols). He is interested in the relationship to the divine, in the sense of the icon, to the universality of a world that can only be recognised in detail, to the visualisation of forces and networks of influence. Cubist dissolution of body and space, expressive colourfulness. In the titles of his paintings, he establishes references to mystical and mythical realms.
