In his exhibition Body. A Blurring of Boundaries, Jonas Büßecker presents sculptural works that explore the human body. Starting from familiar bodily forms, new, unsettling silhouettes emerge through casting, changes in material and fragmentation. Concrete, metal and fabric lend the sculptures a physical presence that oscillates between surface, tension and resistance. The works straddle the boundary between artistic exploration and personal physical experience, making tangible the way in which societal ideals shape bodies. The exhibition invites us to rethink our view of the body – as an open, contradictory and living space.
