At the end of May, everything in Salzburg revolves around literature. The 18th Salzburg Literature Festival aims to provide a platform for authors, performers and musicians where different disciplines such as literature, music and drama intersect, overlap and collide. The direct on-site experience, the opportunity for exchange and discussion – in short, the fundamental spirit of the festival – is to be realised to the fullest over five days of festivities. At the Salzburg Literature Festival, under the leadership of Birgit Birnbacher, Carmen Schwarz and Nadine Samija, language and sound come together at various venues across the city of Salzburg that change each year – a tried-and-tested concept that appeals to both a regular audience with an affinity for literature and curious passers-by.
