No fewer than five artists from Austria feature on the poster for the new Manifest exhibition on the current state of the world, “Rhythmische Spannungen / Rhythmic Stress”, organised by the ambitious /SAC gallery in Bucharest. Curated by Alex Radu and Charles Moore, the exhibition brings together the works of over 60 artists from six countries in a dialogue at the intersection of dance, performance, contemporary art and spatial practices – all fields in which rhythm is the central element and a political force. Xenia Hausner, Barbara Kapusta, Oliver Laric, Judith Wagner and Nives Widauer are the high-profile guests from the Austrian contemporary art scene who are participating in this project with works and even in person (Judith Wagner), a project that puts people’s resilience to the pressure of rhythm imposed by society to the test.
