Following exhibitions on topics including Moravia and Prague Castle, “Architektur im Ringturm” now turns its attention to the larger part of the Czech Republic which, despite its cultural and historical significance, has often remained hidden from view: Bohemia. Along the banks of the Eger, Elbe and Vltava rivers, visitors will encounter a wealth of surprising buildings. Curated by Adolph Stiller, the exhibition spans the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods right through to 20th-century architecture, featuring works by Josef Hoffmann, Pavel Janák, Jan Kotěra, Heinrich Kulka and Jože Plečnik, amongst others. Photographs, plans and stories invite visitors to rediscover a country that is closer than one might think – and yet full of surprises.
