The solo exhibition “Para(rt)sitic Protection Society (PPS)” at the Fundaziun Nairs presents works by Vienna-based artist Lena Violetta Leitner, who studied digital art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. In 2017, she founded the Integration Centre for Migrated Plants and is a co-founder of the eco-feminist Danube Transformation Agency for Agency (DTAFA) as well as the OutSight collective. Building on a residency at Nairs in 2024, Leitner is developing the PPS as a fictional institution that views parasitic strategies as creative and subversive forms of coexistence. With an information terminal, a chatbot, and rest and training stations, the exhibition invites visitors to engage actively with the subject and encourages them to adopt new perspectives on relationships, resources and processes of social change.
