Curiosity, the exploration of contrasts and the interplay between them are the driving forces behind Egbowon’s artistic practice. Through the transformation of materials and an intensive examination of their symbolism and physical properties, he explores their transformative powers and inherent transience. His work is driven by his childlike curiosity and an exploration of alchemical processes. This gives rise to net-like objects. The canvas serves as a familiar medium and starting point. He devotes himself to classical oil painting and aims to combine painting and sculpture in his solo exhibition at Kunstraum.
