Once again this September, the Summer Dance Days will be taking place at the Sonnenstein Loft in Urfahr. The dance workshop festival has established itself as a popular fixture on Linz’s cultural calendar and invites dance enthusiasts of all levels to explore different styles and discover the joy of movement. A particular highlight this year is the four international guest artists from Ghana, Italy and South Korea, who will be adding new dance styles to the programme. With its accessible, open-to-all approach, the programme is aimed at adults and young people aged 12 and over. The programme is complemented by three workshops for younger participants. Once again, the workshop programme covers a wide range of styles, from contemporary and urban dance to Pilates. Alongside familiar focal points such as house dance, contemporary and hip-hop, this year’s guest artists are bringing fresh cultural inspiration to Linz: several courses on African dance with Awal Iddris from Ghana, Easy Ballet with Gaia Lemmi from Italy, and two specialised K-POP choreographies taught by Yeri Yoo and Minha Hwang from South Korea. Alongside 18 dance workshops for adults and young people aged 12 and over, there are also three sessions for young dance enthusiasts aged between 6 and 12: K-POP, African dance and hip-hop.
