The painter and comic artist, whose paintings are complex visual structures, creates surreal conceptions of space based on preparatory photographic set-ups. These phantasmagorias, which appear to follow the modernist vocabulary (Cubism, Futurism), wander through various media (photography, performance, painting) as images of memory or dreams. The fragmented and superimposed spatial structures make it difficult to interpret what is happening in the image. Fiction and reality cancel each other out. ‘Nightshifters’ are not just people who usually work at night. It is also a computer function that automatically adjusts a display’s colours to a warmer light after sunset.
