Now in its fifth edition, the European Film Festival is visiting Islamabad, Sialkot and Hyderabad. Austria is represented by the short films “Im Kreis / Roundabout” by Zoe Schmidt and “Out of Sync” by Adam Baroud. “Im Kreis / Roundabout” explores friendship, peer pressure and exclusion in everyday school life; “Out of Sync” follows a young competitive athlete on her journey into adulthood. Both films focus on the lives of girls and young women. Presented by the Delegation of the European Union to Pakistan, the festival combines screenings of European films with live music and interactive events. The Austrian Embassy in Islamabad is delighted to use these two films to introduce Pakistani audiences to contemporary Austrian cinema.
