08.10.2026 – 15.10.2026
With contemporary dance as a universal language, a space for encounter and a catalyst for new perspectives, the tanz_house Festival will once again welcome visitors in 2026. The tanz_house Festival 2026 brings together diverse artistic languages, generations and perspectives. Dance meets music, film, visual arts and social commentary; performances become spaces for encounter and exchange. A festival that broadens horizons: productions for children and works by young dance artists are presented alongside pieces by established artists. The ‘next generation’ programme provides a platform for emerging artists, whilst the ‘Projekttrigger’ initiative combines visual art and performance. Music, Ukrainian folk songs, laughter yoga and a collaborative DJ set enrich the festival programme with further forms of experience. With its own Climate Day, the festival reaches out to civil society: a sleep performance by Vocal Naps is followed by a lecture and discussion with the leading Austrian climate scientist Helga Kromp-Kolb on the climate crisis. A glimpse into the wider world is also part of the tanz_house Festival: over two evenings, dance films will bring international productions from Finland, Egypt, Poland, Israel, Austria and Belgium to the screen, showcasing the diversity of dance film as an art form in its own right.
