14.10.2026 – 25.10.2026
Once again this autumn, the Linz Children’s Culture Week is putting the spotlight on cultural activities for young people. This year’s Children’s Culture Week kicks off with a thrilling concert experience full of humour, wonder and musical magic. Following the official opening address, Gabor Vosteen – alias ‘The Fluteman’ – will delight children of all ages with his unique blend of virtuoso recorder music, poetry and non-verbal comedy. The musician is nicknamed ‘The Fluteman’ because of his superpower: Vosteen plays five recorders at the same time, making him arguably the smallest flute ensemble far and wide.
The programme offers a wide variety of performing arts events: from puppet and object theatre, such as ‘Der kleine Diktator’ at the Theater Phönix or ‘Magos Laros – Die Welt des Bodens’ by the 1st Linz Fairy Tale Café, to dance theatre such as ‘Panzerschloss’ by HELIX projects at the Lentos Art Museum or ‘Pippi Longstocking’ at the Teatro Maestro, right through to ‘Young Impro’ for young people at the Kuddelmuddel Children’s Cultural Centre, and classical theatre such as ‘Leutnant Gustl’ at the Tribüne Linz. But other genres are also well represented during the 12 days in October: a wide selection of readings, films, concerts and much more awaits young visitors. This year’s programme even features ‘Dr. Pop’ at the Posthof – a music-comedy stand-up show for children aged 10 and over. This year’s Children’s Culture Week once again offers numerous programme highlights for the youngest culture fans – over the 12 days, there will be a variety of events for children aged 0 and over – such as the ‘Kinderklangreise’ children’s concerts organised by the Listen Linz association.
