The Kunsthistorisches Museum KHM reopens on 30.05.2020. The exhibition “Beethoven moves” is currently on display. In cooperation with the Archive of the Society of Friends of Music in Vienna, the KHM Vienna presents a somewhat unusual homage to Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).
The unique reception of this exceptional composer is at the heart of the exhibition, his iconic nature allowing for a vast number of connections; high and popular culture, commerce and politics use an almost inexhaustible reservoir for inspiration or appropriation.
Works by Auguste Rodin, Anselm Kiefer and John Baldessari, among others, as well as a video work by Guido van der Werve will be shown.
