Musician and producer Parov Stelar is celebrated worldwide as the pioneer of electroswing. What is less well known is that the native Upper Austrian studied at the Linz University of Art and in Berlin. In an exhibition, he now provides insight into his work as a visual artist for the first time. Parallel to the “Proof of Art” exhibition on the history of crypto art, the Francisco Carolinum is presenting some 20 large-format paintings such as “HELLO Mom,” a tribute to his mother, who is also an artist. On display, in particular, is a selection of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) created over the past three months: Short clips consisting of several variations of a motif, accompanied by musical sequences by the artist himself and produced especially for the Linz exhibition.
