Out of the present reality, which is saturated with crises, catastrophes, threats and states of exhaustion, and into a surreal space in which apathy and exertion are supposedly transformed into physical and mental well-being. Disappear in hidden dreams describes a state that seems to promise relief.
The works in the exhibition examine escapist ideas as well as hidden threshold areas. Spaces are expanded associatively as the installative works by Daniela Gutmann and Lukas Gwechenberger create dream-like situations. In poetic mirages, they trace different, partly fictitious realities and latent aesthetics.
