With OPUS 24, Martina Stock presents a walk-in audiovisual installation comprising portraits of 24 female artists whose personalities and work have had a decisive influence on the Salzburg Festival in its 100 years of existence, both on and off-stage. The selection of 24 artists from the ‘100 FEMALE VOICES’ project was curated in view of their close connection to Berlin. These include singing, instrumental music, composition, musical direction, acting, literature, costume and stage design. The significance of the artists Laura Aikin, Ingeborg Bachmann (1926-1973), Bibiana Beglau, Senta Berger, Annette Dasch, Anna Prohaska, Ulrike Folkerts, Elīna Garanča, Xenia Hausner, Friederieke Heller, Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck, Rebecca Horn (1944-2014), Elfriede Jelinek, Sumi Jo, Ursina Lardi, Lotte Lehmann (1888-1976), Joana Mallwitz, Birgit Minichmayr, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Shirin Neshat, Olga Neuwirth, Stefanie Reinsperger, Johanna Terwin (1884-1962) and Ruth Walz are told symbiotically in a Gesamtkunstwerk.
