As the central platform for international dialogue between design, art and architecture, the Triennale di Milano 2025 is addressing the growing social, economic and ecological imbalances that are being increasingly exacerbated by the climate crisis and rapid technological developments under the motto Inequalities. With the mixed-media installation Soft Image, Brittle Grounds, the Austrian contribution takes a critical look at the interdependence of technology, ecology, power and inequality. Based on his 30-minute essay film Brute Force [Exhibition Cut] (2025), Felix Lenz examines the material and political implications of technology and knowledge extractivism and shows – from a queer perspective – how the complexity of our world collides with the simplified rationalities of the digital age.
