The exhibition, curated by Dr Gerald Matt, features two photographers, Sarah Moon and Elfie Semotan, who, despite their differences, share a flair and sensitivity for the people behind the fashion, for characters, beauty and form outside the norm. Their sense for the right moment, the unusual and irritating perspectives, the decisive moment, the often surprising use of light, their empathy for their models and their interest in art make them exceptional phenomena in the world of photography, artists among photographers. They not only set important trends in fashion photography, but also in art photography by demonstrating that the boundaries between art and fashion photography have long been obsolete.
