The show, entitled Behind Open Eyes, which is the second solo exhibition by Vienna-based artist Arang Choi, showcases Choi’s unique perspective and artistic vision. The exhibition features recent works created especially for the occasion. Inspired by baroque grisaille painting and the false reliefs of trompe l’oeil painting, Choi’s latest works are characterised by a limited colour palette. Her artistic process involves an in-depth study of nature, detailed landscape observations and precise animal studies. She translates these visual impressions into drawings and oil paintings, creating a distinctive visual language.
