La Strada, the international festival for street art, puppet theatre, new circus and community art, has enriched the cultural scene in Graz for more than two decades. Close to the people, it explores the city with a variety of artists, turns perspectives upside down, discovers hidden places and turns urban living spaces into a grand stage. Festival highlights include performances by renowned companies such as NoFit State Circus with a poetic outdoor circus performance. Dries Verhoeven with his critical art project ‘Everything must go’ and the puppet theatre of the Zitadelle Berlin will also set special accents. The programme will be complemented by numerous international artists who will fill squares, streets and parks with fantasy and art.
La Strada 2025 will open at Graz Opera House with the latest masterpiece by the French Cirque Le Roux. The group is regarded as the inventor of the so-called Cinema Circus. With impressive cinematic aesthetics, eight virtuoso artists tell a visually stunning emotional story. Breathtaking acrobatics and captivating dance merge into a passionate homage to a humane and solidary society.
