The exhibition ‘Lovers’, curated by Andreas Hoffer, focuses on new and current works in which Pilz addresses a topic that remains marginalised in social and artistic discourse to this day: ageing – and in particular physicality and sexuality in old age. It focuses not on loss or disappearance, but on the continued existence of desire, sensuality and resilience in the lived body. Ageing is not romanticised, but made confrontational – as a biographical reality and as a socially suppressed zone.
