The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo invites you to attend the international symposium ‘Design Collection Displays Reassessed’. The focus will be on new approaches to presenting design, crafts and interiors: curatorial responsibility, audience interaction and innovative exhibition strategies. Among the keynote speakers, with the support of the Embassy in Oslo, is Dr Sebastian Hackenschmidt, curator for furniture and woodwork at the MAK Vienna, who will give insights into museum design and craftsmanship in his lecture entitled Prolonging the Magic: Vienna 1900 in Post-Production. The programme will be complemented by international experts, lectures, panel discussions and post-symposium tours of Oslo museums. The symposium offers a unique opportunity to explore current trends and critical issues in design presentation.
