Images and words that facilitate encounters and open doors are the focus of readings and workshops for school classes during the week, featuring, among others, the newly crowned winner of the German Youth Literature Prize, Jens Rassmus, Hans Christian Andersen Prize winner Heinz Janisch, and children’s songwriter Matthäus Bär. In a focus on peace and democracy, word artist Lena Raubaum, slam poet Omar Khir Alanam and Lübeck author Matthias Kröner will be appearing.
On the weekends, there will be a programme for the whole family: in workshops, picture book cinema and theatre, families can discover the world of images and go on a journey with strong heroes, including Aglaia Szyszkowitz and the pug fish, or go on a musical quest with the little Ich bin ich (I am me).
The book and interactive exhibition ‘The Substances of Writing: “Telling Stories in Pictures”’, with cooperation partners FRida & freD, bookoBörse & bookoLaden, invites visitors to take a daily bookotrain journey to the land of illustration and stories and to exchange books.
