NOWHERE is a project by artists Alisa Gvozdeva, Mikhail Dobrovolsky and Palina Rukavichkina. All three were participants in the MQ Artist-in-Residence Programme during 2025. Curated by Arina Nekliudova, the exhibition explores what it means to work artistically under conditions of uprooting, migration and silence. NOWHERE also refers to the cultural situation in the artists’ countries of origin, Belarus and Russia, where freedom of artistic expression often only exists ‘nowhere’ – or in the fleeting, fragile spaces of the ‘here and now’.
