Once again, Linz becomes the stage for the present and future of European cinema: both emerging and established filmmakers will present their latest works on the big screen as part of Crossing Europe, offering fascinating glimpses behind the scenes. Around 140 feature films, documentaries, short films and experimental films open up new perspectives and, within the context of the Local Artists programme section, provide impressive evidence of the creativity and quality of filmmaking with a connection to Upper Austria. For this year’s edition of Crossing Europe, hundreds of films from across Europe had been submitted by early January, featuring a wide variety of artistic and thematic approaches.
Festival Trailer 2026: ODRŽATI
The artists Amanda Burzić and Dominik Galleya are responsible for the 2026 festival trailer. Burzić works across the fields of visual art and experimental film, whilst Galleya creates works set in narrative and pop-cultural visual worlds. They have been collaborating on film and music video projects since 2019. At Crossing Europe, they have already been represented several times in the Competition Local Artists, both as a directing duo and in collaboration with other artists.
Industry Afternoon
For the second time, the Industry Afternoon is taking place as part of Crossing Europe, designed for industry professionals as well as film enthusiasts. As a networking platform for local and international players in an industry currently facing complex challenges, Crossing Europe aims to provide a space for discussion, networking and fresh ideas. The programme includes topic-specific presentations and talks, as well as opportunities for one-to-one consultations and networking for film professionals.
