The cornerstone of Ulrike Halmschlager’s work is photography, both as a medium for creating images and for reproduction. She transforms motifs from everyday life by breaking them down into fragments, creating kaleidoscopic spaces of colour which, in turn, serve as source material for textiles, interior design and abstract painting. The resulting cycles of images become systems of mental and emotional resonance.
