With “Desire Delayed”, the Austrian Cultural Forum New York presents a theatrical experience in the heart of New York’s streets, featuring Austrian artists Marie Sturminger and Felix Dennhart. At the junction of the Avenue of the Americas and 44th Street, the audience watches the action unfold through a large shop window. Equipped with microports, the performers move amongst passers-by, traffic and street noise. Live-edited audio tracks bring to life intimate conversations and hidden stories that would otherwise be drowned out by the city’s din. Amidst sirens, passing cars and fleeting encounters, a theatrical experience unfolds that brings to light humorous, absurd and deeply human moments. The production brings together artists from New York and Vienna.
